The Bailey Alora 69-4I is a 3-berth coachbuilt motorhome on the Ford Transit. At just 7ft wide and 6.99m (22’11”) long, it’s narrow enough for tight lanes and busy sites but still gives you a full rear bedroom and a large storage garage. It suits couples who want a fixed island bed and plenty of packing space, with room to carry a third person when you need to, all on a standard car licence.
Layout and Living Space
- Rear double island bed, 1.88m x 1.43m (6’2″ x 4’8″), so you can get in and out from either side
- Single bed up front, 1.96m x 0.99m (6’5″ x 3’3″), from the convertible front lounge
- Front flexi-lounge with twin Aguti travelling seats, both with ISOFIX points for a child seat
- Freestanding dining table, floating wardrobes with bedside units, and full-width overhead lockers
- Drop-in carpets over durable floor vinyl, plus blinds and flyscreens throughout
Kitchen Facilities
- Thetford 138L tower fridge with a 12L freezer, so you can shop for the whole trip
- Combined oven, grill and hob with electronic ignition
- Dual-fuel hob with three gas burners and an electric hotplate, handy when you’re on hook-up
- Stainless steel sink with mixer tap, quartz-effect worktop and a drop-down extension for more prep space
Washroom
- Onboard shower with a fitted tray and curtain
- Thetford electric-flush toilet with a removable cassette
- Sliding tambour partition that closes the washroom off from the bedroom for good separation
- Sliding sink unit with a vanity mirror and hidden storage, plus a Mini Heki rooflight, towel rail and hooks
Heating and Climate
- Truma Diesel Combi D4E heating and hot water. It runs off the same diesel as the engine, so you’re not relying on gas to stay warm, pushing warm air through vents around the van and heating water on demand
- Multiple Midi and Mini Heki rooflights, a sky view window over the cab, and double-glazed windows to keep the inside bright and well aired
Practical Extras
- Large rear garage with side-access doors, a blown-air heating outlet, 230v and 12v sockets, and four lashing rings, so bikes and kit travel dry and secure
- Truma 100-watt solar panel to keep the leisure battery topped up when you’re off hook-up
- 105 Ah leisure battery with a 20-amp charger, four interior 230v sockets and four USB points
- Cycle rack fixing points, a Status TV aerial, and pre-wiring for an optional Avtex wi-fi system
- Full Ford cab with air conditioning, cruise control, a 12″ touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reversing camera and front parking sensors
Weight and Driving
- MRO (unladen): 2,965kg
- MTPLM (fully loaded): 3,500kg
- Payload: 535kg
- Ford 2.0 litre, 130 bhp engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox (an 8-speed automatic, 165 bhp version is available as an upgrade)
- At 3,500kg MTPLM it drives on a standard Category B car licence. It’s worth checking the figures suit your licence and how you plan to load it, and the team can walk you through it.
Safety
- Autonomous emergency braking, ABS, electronic stability programme and tyre pressure monitoring as standard
- Lane assist, intelligent speed assist, twin airbags, engine immobiliser and remote central locking
- Crash-tested reinforced floors, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and a tyre repair kit
